Ms.Ertas has a bachelors of arts in economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her concentrations are developing countries and monetary economics. She also has a Masters in Business Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She started advising businesses during her masters degree as a part of the United States Small Business Administration Program, doing business plans for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Emel has over 20 years of overall marketing experience. She has worked both on product development and management and advertising strategy for brands.  She began to concentrate on technology marketing and CRM in 1999 and has been consulting since 2005. 

B2C and B2B markets worked with include; Finance, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals (OTC), Household Appliances, IT, Construction, Textile, Telecommunications, Public Sector and Services.
